Founder & CEO
Licensed Psychologist

My Clinical Background

I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ohio University and completed my pre-doctoral training at the Albany Psychology Internship Consortium in Albany, NY. I have experience working in a wide range of treatment settings, including outpatient clinics, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Emergency Departments, and locked inpatient units. I’ve also worked with a wide range of clients, from adolescents to folks in their 90s, treating issues such as depression, anxiety, and grief. Much of my clinical work over the past 10 years has focused on working with older adults and working with women in their 40s and 50s who are going through a number of different life changes and transitions. I no longer accept new clients but have existing clients that I still meet with regularly.

I also provide formal clinical supervision to two of our pre-licensed clinicians and informal supervision to some of our other clinicians.

My Professional Background

In addition to my clinical experience, I worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of New Hampshire from 2012 to 2016. I primarily taught undergraduate courses like Abnormal Psychology and Theories of Counseling, provided academic advisement to students, and provided resources for students on clinical career options.

From 2016 to 2021, I served as the Director of Professional Affairs for the Massachusetts Psychological Association. As part of that work, I advocated for improvements in mental health-related legislation, regulations, and health plan policies in Massachusetts. This included testifying in front of various legislative and regulatory committees, meeting with legislators and regulators, serving on task forces, and working directly on bills that were submitted to the legislature for review. I served as the co-chair of the Massachusetts Mental Health Coalition, which included 13 different mental-health related organizations working together to advocate for legislative and regulatory changes. Finally, I provided professional consolations and updates to psychologist members on issues related to health plans (and resolving any health-plan related issues), the business of running a practice, and ensuring that they were meeting the necessary rules and regulations in Massachusetts.

My most recent advocacy work was serving on the Board of Professional Affairs for the American Psychological Association from 2021-2024 for my expertise on health plan finance and health plan billing and coding.
