I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Art Therapist who works with adults who have challenges with anxiety, stress management, emotional regulation, self esteem/self image, and may have gone through difficult experiences in their pasts. My goal is to help you stop feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, and badly about yourself, and start living in the moment and enjoying it.

My Approach to Therapy

I bring non-judgmental acceptance and warmth to sessions. As a therapist, I can:

  • Help people identify what they are feeling.

  • Collaborate with people to set goals and help them reach them.

  • Explain mental health symptoms in an easy-to-understand way.

  • Accept people for who they are and in their current life circumstances.

I enjoy guiding people towards positive changes and witnessing them achieve more fulfilling lives over time. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is helping people recognize their own strengths and their ability to make change in their lives.

Sessions with me will provide you with the space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals, so that you'll be able to learn new ways to manage challenging experiences/emotions. It's important to me to provide a non-judgmental space where you can be yourself.

At Essential Insights Counseling Center, there isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to therapy.

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that everyone is doing the best they can, and they can still grow, change, and do better. I like to work collaboratively with clients to help each person set and work towards their individual goals. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgemental space where people can feel supported as they do the hard work of making change and healing.

When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we’re not alone

 Fred Rogers

As a Therapist, I Embrace the Following Philosophies:

  • I believe that we can do hard things like going to therapy and we can live better for it.

  • I believe that people underestimate their ability to change. It’s possible to change. It’s possible to enjoy life again.

  • I believe that loving and accepting ourselves for who we are, scars and all, is one of the most courageous things we can do.

  • I believe that we can stop feeling shame when we tell our story with someone who can hear it with empathy and understanding.

My Professional Background

I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field with people of all ages. I received my Master of Arts (MA) in Expressive Therapies and Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University. During my graduate program I completed clinical internships working with unhoused adults, and with children and adolescents in a higher level of care. After completing my degree, I worked with children and adolescents in a partial hospitalization program, and then transitioned to working with adolescents with substance use issues in an Intensive Outpatient/Structured Outpatient Addiction Program (IOP/SOAP). Since 2017 I have been working as an outpatient therapist with adolescents and adults.
