I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with adults and older adults who have ongoing challenges with depression and anxiety. My goal is to help you stop feeling overwhelmed and depressed, and help you make progress towards your goals.

My Approach to Therapy

I bring warmth and understanding to sessions. As a therapist, I can:

  • Accept people for who they are and in their current life circumstances

  • Collaborate with people to set goals and help them reach them

  • Explain mental health symptoms in an easy-to-understand way

  • Inspire hope for getting better

I enjoy guiding people toward positive changes, becoming healthier and more empowered, and witnessing them achieve more fulfilling lives over time. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is knowing that I make a difference in people’s lives.

Sessions with me will provide you with the space to be heard and understood so that you’ll be able to express your thoughts and feelings, and figure things out about yourself. It’s important for me to provide a non-judgmental space where you can be yourself.

At Essential Insights Counseling Center, there isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to therapy.

My approach to treatment is that people underestimate their ability to change. It’s possible to change, and it’s possible to enjoy life again.

“Healing takes time, and asking for help is a courageous step.”

 Mariska Hargitay

As a Therapist, I Embrace the Following Philosophies:

  • I believe that you are worthy of love and care.

  • I believe that there is no harm in asking for help.

  • I believe that therapy should address the person as a whole- their mind, body, and spirit.

  • I believe that therapy works when both of us are committed to your healing.

My Professional Background

I received my Master’s degree in counseling psychology from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA and also Delhi University in India. I have experience working in a wide range of treatment settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and with Special Needs populations. In addition, I have worked with children, adults and families with autism, helping the access resources and providing support.
