I’m a psychotherapist who works with emerging adults to older adults who are experiencing stress and anxiety. My goal is to help you stop getting caught in a spiral of distracting negative thoughts so that you can start being present in the here and now. Then you can more easily make choices that are consistent with your personal values and goals.

My Approach to Therapy

I bring a non-judgmental acceptance to sessions, with an open mind and flexibility in my world views.

As a therapist, I can:

  • Understand people’s experiences

  • Help you gain clarity through experiencing being heard and understood

  • Collaborate with people to set goals and help them reach those goals

  • Accept people for who they are and in their current life circumstances

I enjoy guiding people towards positive changes and watching them transform their lives over time. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is celebrating when my clients make progress.

Sessions with me will provide you with the space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals, so that you’ll be able to be understood and heard in order to gain clarity. It’s important for me to provide a collaborative process in a non-judgmental space where you can be yourself.

At Essential Insights Counseling Center, there isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to therapy.

My approach to treatment is to meet you where you are at, right now. We’ll discover together, through dialogue, what your needs are, what your strengths are, and what your goals are. Then we’ll collaboratively come up with a plan to help you get to where you want to go.

“We will be more successful in all our endeavors if we can let go of the habit of running all the time, and take little pauses to relax and re-center ourselves. And we’ll also have a lot more joy in living.”

— Thich Nhat Hanh

As a Therapist, I Embrace the Following Philosophies:

  • Therapy should address the person as a whole - their mind, body, and spirit.

  • Emotions heal when they are witnessed and validated.

  • Therapy works when both of us are committed to your healing.

  • Sometimes, small steps in the right direction end up being the biggest steps in the end.

  • We can start healing when we tell our story with someone who can hear it with empathy and understanding.

My Professional Background

I received my Master’s in Social Work from Simmons School of Social Work and my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Boston College. I have worked in telehealth, in-person mental health, residential mental health, in-home support, hospital and long-term care settings with clients ranging from young adults to elders, who were coping with a variety of medical, life stage, and mental health experiences.
